Diane’s poster focused on her easy-to-see sunny disposition and highlighted her dedication to her happy family, as well as her opportunity to continue cruising on her beloved yellow moped! If you see someone with a flamed helmet riding through Roanoke, I’d get out of their way.
James poster was all about his father’s mobility and how that painful injury stems from his time in the service of the US military. James included a great candid shot that speaks strongly about his close relationship with his dad.
Cameron’s poster speaks to his unrelenting creative ambition and the amazing paintings that he brightens people’s lives with. Heaven and Jeff have played a huge part in increasing his quality of life. I wanted this poster to feel as spirited as Cameron’s attitude.
The story of Kathy’s accident was one of the most powerful that I read. I was particularly struck by how savage the aftermath of the accident was, and tried to build everything around that image of the scene of the wreck. Kathy is quite a trooper.
The story of Dave’s effect on his father’s life through his work almost read like a roadmap! I worked to give a sense of scale to the movement of the parts he makes through the locations and graphics that bring things almost “full circle”, back to his father.
Throughout Paul’s recounting I kept imagining how close he came to possibly being lost. I wanted to do a bright poster that not only portrayed a strong and renewed sense of life, but also the lively dynamic of the pacemaker’s current that keeps his heart beating to this day.
Chaz had the unique opportunity of building a very important and complex component used in his grandmother’s surgery. I drew up a number of technical components and brought in schematic graphics (including that of an actual pacemaker) to build on that special aspect.
For LouAnn, things seemed all about trying to make it out of winter’s worst in one piece. I kept the graphics and palette fairly cold but tried to allow the images to progress down the canvas with the story to a bit of a warmer ending. LouAnn’s tale is an inspiration to everyone, parents included!
Tony’s prodigious technical experience and lengthy time with Accellent almost lends his status with as much of a sense of fixture as the heavy equipment he expertly utilizes every day. I wanted to speak to his mechanical side through the use of tooling and plate graphics.
This poster design really revolved around Frieda’s new knee and the sense of movement she was able to regain in her life. I thought Jutta brought forth a powerful sense of excited energy and positive feeling in her story, so the graphics reflect a lighter sense of weight and transparency.
Michael’s story is really a team effort! Accellent was fortunate to get a shot of Michael with his two important co-workers, Eileen and Cindy. They are as much a part of his success as the catheter that Accellent produced, which was placed in his body during surgery.
